Program Description:
Honey warm sunlight that bathes a gently rugged agrarian landscape, inhabited by people of uncommon character, warmth, and hospitality. Perhaps no place else on earth do the people and the landscape they inhabit mirror each other so well. Tuscany is the central region of Italy. Known for it’s vineyards, olive groves, timeless architecture, and of course FOOD, it is a photographer’s paradise. “The Color & Character of Tuscany” is a photographic workshop that explores people and place. Our seven day stay is based at the historic Castello di Spannocchia in the heart of the Tuscan region. Our itinerary includes visits to the medieval walled city of Siena, a local winery near Montalcino, the small and charming walled town of Torri, chanting monks in an historic abbey, and lots of wandering down the cypress tree-lined back-roads of the hilly Tuscan countryside. Photographic instruction will include sessions on capturing natural light in landscapes, the environmental portrait, travel photography, and color theory in the viewfinder, and much more.
