Description:
Join us in discovering the beauty and sustained life in the Tuscan Farmhouse. A house doesn’t reveal all its secrets until you take your time to listen, absorb and understand its soul. Having painted the interiors of nearly all the farmhouses on the Spannocchia property and many of the bedrooms in the Villa and Fattoria. Jane Almeida says, “Each room has a soul and a desire to become unique and to endure”. We’ll try our hand at mixing natural pigments to color a farmhouse wall, create new stencils to replicate ones discovered in the Villa, and even venture outdoors to recreate kitchen/herbal gardens which were and are necessities for beautification around these homes. All this within the Tenuta di Spannocchia and in the spirit of Spannocchia’s mission. We’ll discuss and visit historic landmarks in this region of Tuscany from the Palazzo Pubblico to neighboring Villas to reveal the decorative arts which adorned these buildings over the centuries.
