Making an italian sketchbook – Painting workshop with Molly Davis
April 5, 2018 - April 14, 2018$2700.00 - $3200.00
The Tuscan countryside is a magical place and a painter’s paradise. This ten day trip to the beautiful Spannocchia Villa includes a week-long workshop with Molly and a one-day excursion to Florence with an Italian guide to lead the way. The participants will learn how to infuse a “sense of place” in their work. Oil and watercolor mediums are taught with an emphasis on capturing the wonderful and unique feeling of light in Italy. We will be working in “plein aire” in the fields and around the villa to capture stories in our pieces inspired by the local scenes. Because Molly has taught many times in Italy, her knowledge of the colors, and shapes and descriptions of the foliage, and architecture becomes helpful for the students to communicate their imagery. Critiques in the evenings and lectures will be a part of the workshop, with much time to access the teacher during the day as she works with the participants to express their own special style during the painting hours.
The cost includes: All meals, transportation to and From Rome, and Florence to the Villa. Double or single occupancy rooms. Teaching for the week.
