Originally published in 2002, this verbal and visual illustration of Spannocchia, written in both English and Italian, grew out of Pascale Quiviger’s several years as artist-in-residence on the estate. Her ink wash drawings beautifully illustrate the various chapters on Spannocchia’s Houses, People, Animals, Earth, Forest, and Water. An award-winning writer in her native Canada, Pascale brings evocative verbal descriptions to the story, or really many stories, of Spannocchia.
