2025 ANNIVERSARY!

2025 was a big anniversary year for Spannocchia! We celebrated multiple anniversaries with various activities, events, and special communications throughout the year.

  • 100 years: In 1925, Delfino Cinelli purchased the Spannocchia property, which has stayed in the family and is now owned by his granddaughter, Francesca.
  • 800 years: In 1225, the iconic tower was built, around the same time that the Spannocchi family acquired the estate.
  • As legend has it, something significant also happened 600 years ago: Around 1425, San Bernadino is thought to have blessed Spannocchia with a well—and this pristine water source remains to this day.

Before 2025 even began, we launched anniversary celebrations with a special tree planting in November 2024. To visually honor the 800 years of history on the Spannocchia property, we planted 8 cipressi (cypress trees, iconic of Tuscany) along the driveway up to Spannocchia, and celebrated with a festive toast for staff and interns.

The largest, foremost cypress tree has a pen quill tip for a trunk to signify the years of stories and to honor Delfino Cinelli, who was a writer.

Being able to celebrate this milestone anniversary year together as a community was joyful, humbling, and reinvigorating. We ended the year feeling energized to continue carrying on the traditions of Spannocchia and, with your continued support, to contribute to another 800 anni di storie.
