CELEBRATE WITH US!

Mark your calendars! 2025 is a big anniversary year for Spannocchia: we'll be celebrating multiple anniversaries with various activities, events, and special communications throughout the year, and we hope you'll all join us in some way—whether on-site in Italy, together in the US, or remotely through virtual opportunities.

  • 100 years: In 1925, Delfino Cinelli purchased the Spannocchia property, which has stayed in the family and is now owned by his granddaughter, Francesca.
  • 600 years: In 1425, San Bernadino is thought to have blessed Spannocchia with a well—and this pristine water source remains to this day.
  • 800 years: In 1225, the iconic tower was built, around the same time that the Spannocchi family acquired the estate.

Celebrations for the year are still being planned, and will include reunion programs for internship and apprenticeship alumni, symposia on interesting topics related to our mission, improved educational signage and storytelling, and more. ALUMNI REUNIONS

We're thrilled to announce that—for the first time ever!—we are organizing reunion programs at Spannocchia in 2025, open to all alumni of our internship and apprenticeship programs. Choose one of three different reunions, come solo or with family, and spend time on the farm with other alumni. You can attend any one of these three reunion programs (no need to correspond to the season you spent at Spannocchia). Reminisce over shared experiences, learn about our current operations, enjoy nostalgic meals, and hear from your peers at alumni-led presentations. REGISTER NOW!

  • Spring Reunion: Monday, April 14 - Thursday, April 17, 2025
  • Summer Reunion: Wednesday, July 16 - Saturday, July 19, 2025
  • Fall Reunion: Wednesday, October 29 - Saturday, November 1, 2025

Participants in our Farm Internship, Butcher Apprenticeship, Culinary Apprenticeship, Guest Services Internship, and/or Winter Farm Volunteer Program are eligible to attend the alumni reunions. Partners and family are welcome. All reunion registrations will be first come, first served, based on accommodation availability.

Reunions will include a three-night stay at Spannocchia, all meals, and several organized activities. Participants are welcome to extend their stay on either end of the program, booked directly with the agriturismo at an additional expense, space-permitting. Full details available here! 

Alumni Presentations: Our vision for these reunions is to include opportunities for participating alumni and their guests to learn from each other and hear some of the amazing things that you all have been engaged in since your time at Spannocchia! Your presentation could share trials and tribulations in your life and work as a farmer, tell the story of how you launched your food business, discuss questions of conservation and environmental issues that you now address professionally, demonstrate a skill or hobby that ties to your time at Spannocchia, or so much more. If you’re interested in being a presenter, please submit your proposal here. Submissions are encouraged by April 30, 2024, but will be accepted after this date as space allows. Don't be shy—show us what you have been up to!
